Two drivers arrested for speeding and drug possession during Okaloosa County school zone enforcement
OKALOOSA COUNTY, Florida - Two drivers were arrested for speeding in school zones and other violations, according to the Okaloosa County Sheriff's Office. The incidents occurred during an afternoon enforcement operation by Alpha Shift North.Deputy Sheriff Daniels stopped a vehicle for speeding through an active school zone and discovered drug paraphernalia in the center console. A search revealed the passenger possessed two ounces of Oxycodone and two ounces of marijuana/THC substances, leading to their arrest. The driver, who had an active warrant, was also taken into custody, stated the sheriff's office.In a separate incident, Corporal Sears stopped another vehicle for excessive speeding in a school zone. The driver was found to have attached an unassigned license plate, was driving on a suspended license, and had not registered the vehicle. He was arrested, and the vehicle was impounded, according to the press release.
