MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A 47-year-old Millington man lost his life when a 15-foot jon boat capsized on Friday, July 26, 2024, on the Mississippi River in Shelby County. Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency officers responded to a capsized boat in the Mississippi River’s Mud Island Wolf River Harbor area at approximately 9 a.m. on July 26. The Memphis Police Department, Braden Fire Department, Shelby County Emergency Management, Harbor Patrol, Shelby County Sheriff’s Department Search & Rescue, and TWRA searched for the missing boater.
