Alabama football is set to host an impressive list of recruits this weekend including some interesting 2025 recruits. Dear remains on commitment watch ahead of a possible summer decision and another visit to Alabama after officially visiting the Crimson Tide in June. After de-committing from Ole Miss, the Tide are now the projected favorite to land Dear.
Elite in-state 4-Star wide receiver visiting Alabama this weekend
Cederian Morgan confirmed he will be at the University of Alabama this weekend. Morgan is a 2026 four-star recruit out of Benjamin Russel High School in Alexander City Alabama. He currently garners a four-star rating from most recruiting sites and is regarded as one of the nation’s top underclassman prospects. Auburn will also host Morgan this weekend.
Customers Cause Trouble at Philly Businesses
PHILADELPHIA, Miss.–Two different customers caused trouble at two Philadelphia businesses in separate incidents Friday. Both incidents were just after 6 p.m. A man was caught shoplifting at the Philadelphia Walmart. He was being held by the store manager as the loss prevention person called police. It was unclear if police made an arrest.

70-year-old Mississippi man arrested on cocaine trafficking charge in Florida
A 70-year-old Mississippi man was arrested for cocaine trafficking and possession of drug equipment in Florida. The arrest occurred during a traffic stop conducted by a deputy from the Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office (SRCSO) on July 10. Johnson was driving a 2021 Chevy Malibu registered in Mississippi when he was pulled over for a traffic violation.

Update: Flash flood warning issued for Lamar and Marion counties early Sunday evening
On Sunday at 3:04 p.m. an updated flash flood warning was issued by the National Weather Service in effect until 4:30 p.m. for Lamar and Marion counties. "At 3:04 p.m., Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 2 and 4 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts up to 0.5 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly," says the weather service. "Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas."
