Feenstra tours Loess Hills Regional Sanitary Landfill renewable natural gas facility
(Malvern) -- A new, state-of-the-art renewable natural gas processing facility is up and running at a regional landfill in Mills County. (Glenwood) -- Officials with Glenwood Municipal Utilities are hopeful river level forecasts remain status quo or decrease near Pacific Junction. That was the message from GMU Utilities Superintendent Dave Malcom, who tells KMA News that based on the current Missouri River level forecasts, as flood water from northwest Iowa makes its way south, it is not expected to interfere with the GMU water treatment plant. Located just east of Pacific Junction, the water plant was among portions of Mills County that found itself inundated with floods waters for weeks back in 2019, leaving the city of Glenwood without potable water for months. While they don't foresee floodwaters reaching Pacific Junction this time around, Malcom says they are still coordinating in case conditions worsen.
