New Jersey Senior Freeze checks distributed. Did you get it?
The first round of the Senior Freeze rebate checks have been distributed to eligible New Jersey residents. The Department of the Treasury’s Division of Taxation began issuing the reimbursement checks to senior citizens or disabled persons that filed their application before May 1. Checks were issued starting July 15.

NEW JERSEY - Two New Jersey swimmers, Matt Fallon of Warren and Jack Alexy of Mendham, have earned spots in the U.S. trials for the 2024 Olympics, which kick off in Paris on July 26. Fallon broke the American record in the 200-meter breaststroke, while Alexy secured his spot in the 100-meter freestyle by outperforming a seven-time gold medalist. Camden County Boy Scouts heading home from St. Croix due to global tech outage canceling flight
STRATFORD, N.J. (CBS) — A group of Boy Scouts from Camden County is on the way home Saturday after being stranded in Saint Croix.Troop 122 landed in the Virgin Islands on July 12. The children, who range in age from 11 to 17, spent the last week earning merit badges and practicing lifesaving skills while staying at a 17-acre seafront campground called Camp Howard M. Wall.The scouts' flight to Philadelphia was supposed to leave on Friday but got canceled because of the global tech outage. The scouts were told it could be a week before they could get on another flight.Scoutmaster Stacey White said he's relieved that Spirit Airlines was able to add a flight so the group could leave Saturday night. The troop is scheduled to arrive at Philadelphia International Airport early Sunday morning."Very happy," White said. "It's a lot of responsibility having 30-some kids knowing that they're running out of their medications and some of them, when they're out of medications, have withdrawal symptoms — whatever it is, it was not going to be pretty."White said he got a phone call from New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy, who wanted to make sure the children were OK.

Penn State announced that they will raise their in-state tuition by 2% at their University Park campus for the 2025-2026 semester. Philadelphia 'wild west gun battle' leaves 3 dead, 6 injured in block party mass shooting
A shooting during a Philadelphia block party has left three dead and six injured, including a 33-year-old man and a 23-year-old man who were found dead at the scene. A third, 29-year-old man was pronounced dead an hour later at the hospital after he was shot in the stomach. Police say that the last man may have been targetted, as he was shot at point-blank range at the party.
