Woman Charged in Fatal Overdose
The Daily Item reports a Schuylkill County woman will go to trial for allegedly providing drugs that claimed the life of a 15-year-old Mount Carmel resident. Victoria Mowry of Ashland has a trial set for October, charged with felony counts of drug delivery. Mount Carmel police say Mowry is responsible for fentanyl that was used in the overdose death of Ricky Payne. Christopher Payne was also charged for Ricky Payne’s death. The Daily Item reports Christopher Payne testified in court that he purchased drugs from Mowry and that his brother Ricky used them the night he overdosed and died.
Shamokin Man to Go to Trial for Attempted Homicide
SUNBURY – The Daily Item reports a Shamokin man will go to trial on charges of attempted homicide and aggravated assault. 45-year-old Adam Danaher is accused of stabbing 49-year-old Patrick Kantane in Mount Carmel in January of 2022. A trial date has been set for November 19th in Northumberland County. Kantane said the two men got into a fight in the 100 block of North Beech Street when he was stabbed by Danaher in the torso.
