Prep girls soccer: Wolves storm back from 2-goal deficit to stun Hawks
MILLVILLE — It was looking bleak for the reigning 4A state champions on more than one occasion, but they refused to fold. Instead, Green Canyon came storming back from a late 3-1 deficit and then came from behind in a shootout to steal one on the road against Ridgeline in a Region 11 girls soccer showdown on Thursday evening. The score was knotted up at 3-3 after 100 minutes of action, so the final outcome was contested from the penalty spot and the Wolves prevailed in a seven-round shootout, 5-4.

Top 25 Aggies of 2024 - #2 Ike Larsen
One of Utah State's most recognizable stars comes in at number two in the Cache Valley Media Group Top 25 Aggies of 2024 — junior safety Ike Larsen. Larsen earned First Team All-Mountain West honors last year following a season with career-best numbers, including 103 tackles, 4.5 tackles for loss, six passes defended and four interceptions. He was twice named Mountain West Defensive Player of the Week and earned one MW Special Teams Player of the Week honor in 2023 (he has one additional DPOTW from 2022). Larsen was named a College Football Network Honorable Mention All-American.

Prep football: Bobcats blanked for first time since 2005
After a successful comeback in Week 1 of the football season against Salem Hills, the Bobcats did not have it in them on the road Thursday night at Morgan. The 3A Trojans jumped on Sky View early and went on to do something that hadn’t been accomplished since 2005 — hold the Bobcats scoreless. For the second week in a row Morgan notched an impressive win over a 4A program with a 34-0 victory. The Trojans beat defending 4A state champion Crimson Cliffs, 41-13, on the road to start the season.
