Heavy Rain, Flash Flooding Continuing Into Thursday
Torrential rain and flash flooding is affecting most of North Dakota on Wednesday. The National Weather Service issued a Flash Flood Advisory in the afternoon, with up to 2 inches of rain per hour coming down in the East-Central part of the state. The streets of downtown Jamestown turned into makeshift rivers, carrying over a foot of water in some spots down the normally dry roads. The Carrington area and northwestern Stutsman county area were the most affected locally. Heavy rain and storms will continue all of Thursday, with winds picking up to sustained speeds of 20 miles per hour. The opening day of school may be affected in some areas Thursday. Check with your local district for the latest delay or closure information. You are advised to stay indoors and off the roads if at all possible during this time.

(KVRR) — Here at the North Dakota Senior Games both men and women 50 and up are competing to have a chance to win to go to Nationals. “Yeah we have a ton of doubles this year so I’m just excited to see. We have like over a hundred pickleball athletes. So seeing those doubles players, especially those mixed doubles, I think it’s so fun to see men and women play against each other and be competitive. I think that is a lot of fun.”
