Job Cuts Loom as Indiana Auto Parts Factory Announces Closure in Richmond; Many Impacted
A company in the heavy-duty vehicle industry has informed the state of Indiana about its decision to permanently close its facility in Richmond. TBK Col. Ltd. specializes in manufacturing brakes and water pumps for engine cooling systems used in heavy-duty vehicles such as trucks and buses. The closure of the Japanese company was not immediately announced, leaving the reason undisclosed.
ELDER-BEERMAN DEMOLITION CONTRACT TO BE AWARDED THURSDAY
(Richmond, IN)--The demolition of the former Elder-Beerman building and the skywalk that connects it to the city’s parking garage will take a big step forward Thursday. Richmond’s Board of Works is expected to approve a contract with a Cincinnati company after it bid $711,000 for the work a week ago. That company was the higher of two qualified bids, but it has significantly more experience with large projects than the other bidder.

(Cambridge City, IN)--Fluoride could soon be removed from Cambridge City’s water. Here’s town employee Chris Stapleton telling the Cambridge City Town Council why the removal is under consideration: "It's not beneficial anymore like it was back in the '50's and '60's...not to mention doing away with it would save the town money," Stapleton said. The issue is expected to be brought up again at a council meeting early next month.

A girl sleeping in her bed is fatally struck when shots are fired at 3 homes in Ohio
DAYTON, Ohio (AP) — A 12-year-old girl sleeping in her bed was fatally struck when someone fired several shots into three homes in an Ohio city. Dayton police say it’s not clear why the shootings occurred, but they say no other injuries were reported. It’s believed that at least two shooters may have been involved, but the investigation is ongoing. The shootings were reported around 1 a.m. Friday. Police say more than 30 rifle casings were recovered from the scene. The rounds were fired from the street toward the houses, which neighbor each other and were each struck by multiple shots.

With the booming success of the business, it might be surprising to know that Smythe didn’t always dream of selling real estate. While at Indiana University, Smythe studied psychology and dabbled in cosmetic sales, but real estate was not in her future plans. When I first ran across Oliver Anthony Music on TikTok, I was immediately intrigued. I've been listening to his music since the beginning, and I've enjoyed every tune that he's thrown at fans. Most recently, the artist was spotted hanging out in Indiana at an off-road park before a concert at White River State Park in Indianapolis. The singer-songwriter looked like he was having a fantastic time and took to social media to capture the moment.
