A HEAT ADVISORY HAS BEEN ISSUED FOR MILWAUKEE, RACINE, KENOSHA, AND WALWORTH COUNTIES SUNDAY FROM 2 PM TO 7 PM . HEAT INDEX VALUES COULD REACH 100° IN THESE AREAS, TAKE PRECAUTIONS TO STAY COOL.
The heat and humidity are ramping up this weekend. Highs climb into the 90s on Sunday and Monday. With dew points in the 70s, heat index values will soar towards 100-degrees in some spots. Meanwhile, Storm Team 4 is monitoring the potential for strong storms over the next few days.
Rain and thunderstorms continue to move through SE WI tonight. Storms will be capable of delivering heavy downpours, hail, damaging winds, and frequent lightning. Early Sunday morning, another line of storms will track through SE WI.
Sunday afternoon will be hot with highs in the 90s. Add in high humidity, and heat index values likely top out around 100-degrees, especially from Milwaukee to the south.
Scattered storms likely develop in the afternoon and evening. Some storms could be strong with gusty winds and hail.
Additional showers and storms are expected Monday. Highs will again be in the 90s, with heat index values in the upper 90s.
By Tuesday we will scale back to just some isolated rain or storms, and highs will start to cool. Tuesday highs will be in the 80s. Wednesday through Friday highs will be in the 70s with dry conditions and lots of sunshine.
