A new restaurant and lounge is planned to open this summer on Milwaukee's northwest side.

Pure Lounge and Restaurant will open in what used to be an Olive Garden, at 8531 W. Brown Deer Rd.

Owner Antonio Wesley-Carter aims to bring good food and employment opportunities to the neighborhood.

"I want to give people a space where they can dine and not spend a ton of money," he said.

Wesley-Carter said Pure Lounge will have something for everyone. During the day, it'll be a family-friendly restaurant with vegan options and Mexican dishes, as well as soul food on Sundays.

After 9 p.m., Pure Lounge will be open for guests 21 years old or older.

Wesley-Carter has experience managing restaurants, but this is the first time he's been an owner.

The restaurant will open in July, as long as all applications are approved by the city.

The comments on here never fail. Always so negative...for no reason. Shooting someone dream/idea down before they even start. Idk how you can turn something positive, into something negativity so quick. How do you expect the neighbors to ever improve if ALL you all do is complain, don't support someone's positive efforts and bad month everyone living here? Be the change you all want to see. The negativity is not adding to anything.
