The future of Kitchen Kings ,1000 E. Locust St., is unclear.

The takeout and delivery restaurant, which has been closed for about a week, opened in the Riverwest neighborhood location in June 2023 , serving fried chicken, french fries and and burgers.

Owner Waleed Mohamady cited the high cost of supplies and labor Wednesday, but said he's not sure if the closing is temporary or permanent.

"We have not decided if this is forever or not," Mohamady said. "Market pricing is super high. ... We decided to take a break for a little bit."

Kitchen Kings replaced Sticky Rice, which has since moved to 707 E Brady St. , serving Lao and Thai dishes.
