They're back. Fiesta Cancun in Oconomowoc reopens after closing due to a fire last year

Fiesta Cancun on Friday announced it has reopened its doors, about 17 months after damage from a fire forced the Oconomowoc restaurant to close, according to a Facebook post from the business' official page.

"TGI…. Fiesta!!!! We are back!" the business wrote in the Aug. 16 post. "Our doors are open and we are eager to serve your favorite food and beverages once again! We ask for your patience and understanding as we work out the kinks and get things up and running smoothly!"

News of the restaurant's reopening sparked a wave of reaction on social media. The Facebook post had over 700 likes and more than 110 shares just hours after the post.

Leading up to the reopening, Fiesta Cancun's staff documented the renovations the restaurant underwent on the restaurant's Facebook page.

The restaurant was forced to close its doors after a fire started from unidentified causes March 10, 2023. The fire also displaced a family living in the unit above Fiesta Cancun.

Fiesta Cancun will not be taking reservations or DoorDash orders as they "get back into (the) normal rhythm," according to the business' Facebook post. It's also still working on getting the phone line back in service.

"Hope to see you this weekend or soon! ¡Tequila!" Fiesta Cancun staff signed off in their Facebook post.

The restaurant is open from 11:15 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday to Thursday and 11:15 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday, according to Google.
