Tom Brady calls the Packers a top threat to the Kansas City Chiefs in their quest at a Super Bowl three-peat

Ahead of the 2024 NFL season one the biggest storylines will be the Kansas City Chiefs' quest for a Super Bowl three-peat .

Who, though, could dethrone Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce and prevent them from raising another Lombardi Trophy?

Tom Brady says the Green Bay Packers might be that team.

Asked by ESPN personality Stephen A. Smith last week at Fanatics Fest in New York City on the team he considers the No. 1 threat to the Chiefs in the NFL, Brady listed three NFC teams.

"It's probably still the 49ers," Brady said first, referencing the team that came up short to the Chiefs in last season's Super Bowl . Brady then had the Packers on his mind.

"The Packers, I think are gonna to be a great team," Brady said next.

Brady also listed the Los Angeles Rams as a contender. "I think the Rams are going to be really good this year, too," Brady added.

The Packers do have experience beating the Chiefs. On their way to a playoff berth last season, the Packers outplayed Mahomes and the Chiefs during their 27-19 victory on "Sunday Night Football" Dec. 3 .

This wasn't the first time that Brady has complimented the Packers in recent months.

The seven-time Super Bowl champion said on "The Herd with Colin Cowherd" that the Packers' approach with Jordan Love should be modeled by other teams.

"You look at Jordan Love ... he had Aaron Rodgers to watch," Brady said in late May. "That's the best type of training, in my opinion. Watch someone else do it at a very high level and then try to emulate them with your own personality."

NFL fans will hear a lot more of Brady this season.

Brady, whose legendary 23-year playing career ended after 2022 , is entering his first season on Fox Sports' No. 1 NFL broadcast team.
