    Free Fan Zone at Hy-Vee Milwaukee Mile 250s Weekend

    IndyCar races return to Wisconsin State Fair Park's Miracle Mile this weekend for the first time since 2015. Outside the track's Grandstand, there'll be a Free Fan Zone, with food, autograph sessions and music, including headliners Ian Munsick (7 p.m. Aug. 30) and Quiet Riot (7 p.m. Aug. 31). The gates open at 1:30 p.m. Aug. 30, and 10 a.m. Aug. 31-Sept. 1. No race tickets are required; admission is free. Info: wistatefair.com/wsfp/free-fan-zone.

    Wisconsin Highland Games

    The Wisconsin Highland Games return Aug. 30-Sept. 1 to the Waukesha County Expo Center, 1000 Northview Road, Waukesha. There'll be food, music, sheep and duck herding, Highland dancing, competitions from archery to a "haggis hurl," and more. Hours are 5 to 10 p.m. Aug. 30, 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. Aug. 31 and 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sept. 1. Admission is $20, free for kids younger than 12 (and free for everyone Aug. 30.) Info: wisconsinscottish.org.

    Laborfest at Maier Festival Park

    Laborfest 2024 features music, wrestling, a classic car show and more at Maier Festival Park from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sept. 2. The proceedings start with a Labor Day parade, stepping off at 11 a.m. from Zeidler Union Square, 301 W. Michigan St., and heading to the Summerfest grounds. Admission is free.     Third Ward Art Festival

    The Third Ward Art Festival brings about 200 juried artists to the downtown neighborhood from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Aug. 31-Sept. 1. Admission is free. Info: amdurproductions.com/event/third-ward-art-festival .

    Fiesta Latina MKE

    Fiesta Latina MKE promises food, drink and music from across Latin America on two stages in Veterans Park on Lake Michigan from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sept. 1.     Red Bull Wake the City

    More than 30 top professional wakeboarders will compete at the Red Bull Wake the City tournament in the Lake Michigan waters off Maier Festival Park starting at 11 a.m. Aug. 31. Admission is free. Info: redbull.com.
