Conservative talk show host Jay Weber has now been off the air for a week since mocking Gus Walz , the 17-year-old son of Democratic vice presidential nominee Tim Walz, for his emotional reaction to his father's speech at last week's Democratic National Convention.

Reached Wednesday night, Weber responded, "no comment."

Jeff Tyler, metro president at iHeartRadio for Madison and Milwaukee, has not responded to repeated calls and texts over the past week. Hosts Benjamin Yount and Dave Michaels have filled in for Weber for the past five shows.

Last week, Gus Walz — who has ADHD, an anxiety disorder and a non-verbal learning disorder — received widespread attention when he stood at the DNC during his father's acceptance speech and tearfully shouted: "I love you, dad! That's my dad!"

Weber, who has a morning show on WISN-AM (1130), responded by posting on X, formerly Twitter: "Sorry, but this is embarrassing for both father and son. If the Walzs represent today's American man, this country is screwed: 'Meet my son, Gus. He's a blubbering bitch boy. His mother and I are very proud.'"

The post came under widespread national criticism, and Weber has since taken it down. He has also apologized twice, saying he tweeted "without thinking or having the facts."

"I apologize to the Walz family and anyone who was offended. I feel horrible, I am so sorry," Weber posted.

The Milwaukee radio station last suspended one of its hosts in 2004 when it took conservative talker Mark Belling off the air for a week for using the ethnic slur "wetbacks," a derogatory term for illegal Mexicans immigrants.

WISN suspended Belling amid protests and the withdrawal of several advertisers.
