This state knows good college volleyball, with the University of Wisconsin and Marquette annually fielding teams ranked in the American Volleyball Coaches Association polls.

But the state has never seen a volleyball event like the one coming to Fiserv Forum on Sunday and Monday.

Four teams will play each other at the State Farm Women’s College Volleyball Showcase. All of them are ranked, including three in the top five of the preseason AVCA poll. They have combined to win six of the last eight NCAA championships. Potential All-Americans dot every roster.

Here's what you need to know about the event, which boasts No. 1 Texas, No. 3 UW, No. 5 Stanford and No. 18 Minnesota:

What is the schedule of matches?

    SUNDAY

    Wisconsin vs. Texas, 11:30 a.m.

    Minnesota vs. Stanford, 2 p.m.

    MONDAY

    Wisconsin vs. Stanford, 4 p.m.

    Minnesota vs. Texas, 6:30 p.m.

All matches will be on national TV ... with Wisconsin's on Fox

The UW-Texas and UW-Stanford matches will be on Fox. The Minnesota-Stanford and Minnesota-Texas matches will be on FS1.

    Are tickets still available?

Yes. Single-match tickets and a limited amount of two-day packages are available at www.fiservforum.com .

Has Fiserv Forum ever hosted a volleyball match before?

Yes. Last year, UW and Marquette played in front of 17,037 fans with the Badgers winning in four sets .

It was the second-largest crowd to see an NCAA regular-season match.

Will All-American Sarah Franklin play for Wisconsin after ankle injury?

UW has a lot of star power , but none brighter than Sarah Franklin.

The 6-foot-4 outside hitter was last year's AVCA player of the year and a first-team All-American. Franklin injured her ankle while playing for USA volleyball over the summer, but she recovered in time to have 17 kills in the Badgers' season-opening loss at sixth-ranked Louisville.

Texas' Madisen Skinner, Stanford's Kami Miner and a local player are other players to watch

There will be many players to watch on all four teams, but here are a few stars:

Texas' Madisen Skinner: The 6-2 outside hitter was the Most Outstanding Player at last year's Final Four. She's also banked some pretty impressive name, image and likeness deals.

Stanford's Kami Miner: She was twice named setter of the year in the Pacific 12 Conference. Miner is the daughter of former NBA player Harold Miner, who was nicknamed "Baby Jordan" at USC.

Minnesota's Mckenna Wucherer: Area volleyball fans know all about the former Brookfield Central star who committed to the Golden Gophers before she was a freshman in high school.

When did the schools win national championships?

Texas is the two-time reigning NCAA champion.

UW earned its first national title in 2021.

Stanford won back-to-back NCAAs in 2018 and 2019 after also winning in 2016. The program is a perenniel power - since the first NCAA volleyball championship in 1981, the Cardinal has won six other national titles.

Texas also won the NCAAs in 1988 and 2012 as well as the Association for Intercollegiate Athletics for Women title in 1981.

Minnesota has never won a national title, but lost to Stanford in the 2004 final.
