53-year-old woman dies in crash on Highway 175 in Milwaukee

A 53-year-old woman died from her injuries in a single-vehicle crash Friday on Highway 175 in Milwaukee.

A second male passenger was also injured and his condition is unknown, the Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office said in a post to X.

The crash occurred shortly after 7 p.m., according to the state Department of Transportation.

A full freeway closure is underway on southbound Highway 175 near Wisconsin Avenue and traffic is being diverted off at Wells Street.

As of Friday, 50 people have died in crashes in Milwaukee this year, according to police.
