    Five area teams improve to 3-0 to highlight area top 10 high school football scores

    Conference play began this week in Week 3 of the Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association high school football season, with several area teams asserting themselves as conference favorites with strong performances. Here is how the top 10 area teams fared Friday.

    1. Franklin (3-0)

    Southeast Conference play began with a win for the Sabers on the road in a 27-14 final over Racine Case. Next: vs. Racine Park, Friday.

    2. Muskego (3-0)

    The Warriors welcomed Pewaukee to the Classic 8 Conference with a 21-7 loss for the Pirates at Muskego. Next: vs. Mukwonago, Friday.

    3. Cedarburg (3-0)

    Cedarburg earned its first 3-0 start to a season since 2010 with a 35-21 road win at West Bend West. Next: vs. Nicolet, Friday.

    4. Slinger (3-0)

    The Owls held off a late Hartford rally to win 31-26 in a North Shore Conference matchup. Next: vs. West Bend West, Friday.

    5. Badger (2-1)

    The Badgers bounced back from a narrow loss last week with a blowout home win over Union Grove in a 41-6 final. Next: at Waterford, Friday.

    6. Oconomowoc (3-0)

    Oconomowoc picked up its second consecutive win over an area ranked team by shutting out Kettle Moraine, 30-0. Next: vs. Waukesha West, Friday.

    7. Grafton (2-1)

    The Black Hawks earned a second dominant win in a row while scoring more than 40 points, winning 49-7 over Whitnall at home. Next: at Wisconsin Lutheran, Friday.

    8. Mukwonago (2-1)

    Arrowhead converted a two-point try with three seconds remaining to sneak past Mukwonago at home, 29-28. Next: at Muskego, Friday.

    9. Kettle Moraine (1-2)

    The Lasers were shut out for the second consecutive week in a 30-0 loss to Oconomowoc at home. Next: vs. West Allis Hale, Friday.

    10. Sussex Hamilton (2-1)

    The Chargers routed Waukesha West, 40-9, on the road in a Greater Metro-Classic 8 Conference crossover game. Next: at Brookfield Central, Friday.
