Wisconsin high school sports fans had a unique conflict on their hands Friday night, as the Green Bay Packers kicked off their season shortly after 7 p.m. CT in São Paulo, Brazil, against the Eagles.

The Sports Broadcasting Act of 1961 prohibits the NFL from holding games on Friday after 5 p.m. CT from the second weekend of September through the second weekend of December in deference to high school football. Labor Day fell on Sept. 2 this year, making Friday the start of the first weekend of September. The NL Central-leading Brewers moved first pitch of their Friday contest with the Colorado Rockies to 5:10 to avoid conflicting with the Packers' opener.

High school football in Wisconsin went on as scheduled, however, with kickoffs across the state holding at 7 p.m.

For those who follow both high school and professional sports in Wisconsin, how did you decide to spend your Friday night? Vote in our poll here.
