Brewers radio legend Bob Uecker back in booth for Game 3 of playoffs

Bob Uecker , the longtime legendary voice of the Milwaukee Brewers , hasn't been on the call per usual for the flagship radio broadcasts of the team's playoff games against the New York Mets, but he's in the booth as part of the Game 3 broadcast Thursday.

The 90-year-old Uecker attended Game 2 of the series but didn't participate in the broadcast. In his stead, veteran Brewers announcer Jeff Levering was on the call in the eighth inning for the electrifying home runs by Jackson Chourio and Garrett Mitchell in the Brewers' 5-3 win.

The Brewers declined comment on Uecker's health status, but that's not uncharacteristic. The team indicated Uecker would take it "one day at a time" in plotting his broadcasting schedule before the season and hasn't offered any recurring updates to his status otherwise.

Uecker, 90, was a participant in the team's postgame ceremony when it clinched the National League Central title Sept. 18.

He just finished his 54th regular season on the microphone calling Brewers games. When he's unavailable, Levering, Lane Grindle and Josh Maurer take on a more prominent role on the radio broadcast.
