A 32-year-old Alabama man died in a car crash in Oak Creek early Saturday morning even as police officers pulled him from his burning vehicle.

The single-car crash occurred around 2:30 a.m. in the 2200 block of West Ryan Road when the westbound car veered off the roadway and struck a traffic light pole.

The car was fully engulfed in flames when Oak Creek police arrived at the scene.

Officers pulled the unconscious driver from the car and performed CPR, but he died at the scene.

The driver’s identity has not been released. There were no other passengers in the vehicle.
