Broken Bat Brewery , 135 E Pittsburgh Ave. in Milwaukee, plans to commemorate Jesse Winker's distaste for Milwaukee with a special promotion.

The former Brewers player, who batted .199 in a beleaguered 2023 season, expressed that he will "hate the city of Milwaukee forever" after a contentious wild-card series experience in which he drew boos from the crowd of Brewers fans.

Winker was booed last year when, playing for Milwaukee, he made two at-bats during the wild-card series, and he collected more after hitting a two-run triple with the Mets this year and jawing with shortstop Willy Adames along the way.

Broken Bat posted Wednesday that, if a post on Twitter/X received 100 likes, it would offer $1.99 pints Thursday in honor of Winker's average during his one-year stint in Milwaukee. The post hit that threshold almost instantly.

Patrons won't have the chance to watch Winker's Mets face the Philadelphia Phillies that day in the National League Division Series; it'll be a day off for travel if the Phillies can win Wednesday to prolong the series.

"Feeling is mutual, pal," the brewery's post read in announcing the promotion, along with the Phillies' adopted #RedOctober hashtag to indicate that the brewery is wholeheartedly cheering for Philadelphia to advance.

Winker was still overcoming the effects of offseason knee and spinal surgery during his season in Milwaukee after the franchise acquired him in a deal that sent Kolten Wong to Seattle before the 2023 season. Often sidelined by injury, Winker hit one home run with 23 RBIs in 61 games, with a .567 OPS that ranks as his career-worst, by far.

This season, he's back up to a .764 OPS with Washington and then the Mets, moving to New York at the trade deadline. He finished with 14 homers and 14 stolen bases (he did not have a stolen base with Milwaukee) with 58 RBIs in 145 games.

Then came a successful postseason, including the two-run triple in Game 1 against Milwaukee and scoring a run in the fateful ninth inning of Game 3. He homered for the Mets in Game 3 against the Phillies in the NLDS, with his team taking a 2-1 series lead and needing one more victory to advance into the National League Championship Series.
