Seven times Aaron Rodgers and Davante Adams absolutely cooked in Green Bay

By JR Radcliffe, Milwaukee Journal Sentinel,

The connection between Aaron Rodgers and Davante Adams is well-documented in Green Bay. Adams caught 621 passes from Rodgers with the Packers , the most of any receiver. They connected on 68 touchdowns, the most of any Packers quarterback-receiver combo in franchise history, and that doesn't even count the eight in the postseason.

Want some reminders of how good the two were on the field together? Consider these moments when the duo was cooking:

Adams sets franchise playoff record in win over Seahawks

    Jan. 12, 2020

The "yellow weasel" play may not have gone anywhere, but the Packers got a satisfying achievement in Matt LaFleur's first season as NFL coach: winning a playoff game and reaching the NFC Championship Game . The 28-23 win over Seattle on Jan. 12 featured a monster day for Adams, who caught eight passes for 160 yards and two touchdowns, marking a playoff-game franchise record.

Adams delivered his famous "wash your hands, wash your butt" line before the game, with the world unknowingly on the precipice of the COVID-19 pandemic, then went and cleaned out Seattle, too.

Adams caught eight of the 11 passes thrown his way. The Packers went on to fall convincingly to San Francisco and finish shy of the Super Bowl, but Adams was pretty good in that game, too, despite a 37-20 loss, with nine catches for 138 yards on 11 targets.

'They celebrating with 1:13 in the fourth lmao...'

    Oct. 8, 2017

In an epic win that gave rise to one of the more familiar Wisconsin sports memes of the past decade , Adams caught a 12-yard pass from Rodgers with 11 seconds left, accounting for the winning points in a 35-31 win over Dallas in Arlington, Texas.

The Packers had fallen behind with 1:13 to go on a Dak Prescott running touchdown, but that didn't discourage Rodgers, who found his top receiver for a 14-yard gain to open the drive and an 11-yard gain to end it.

Adams finished with seven catches, 66 yards and two scores.

Another comeback, this time in Santa Clara

    Sept. 27, 2021

In a game reminiscent of that Dallas victory, the Packers found themselves facing a 28-27 deficit against the host 49ers, with just 37 seconds on the clock. So Rodgers and Adams went to work, even without a timeout.

Adams caught a pass for 25 yards and, after an incompletion thrown Adams' way two plays later, he caught a pass for 17 yards that took the ball down to the San Francisco 33-yard line. That allowed Mason Crosby to kick a 51-yard field goal to give the Packers a 30-28 stunner.

Adams finished the game with 12 catches, 132 yards and one score. He bounced back quickly from a shot to the chest with 7:41 left in the game to remain a major factor on the final drive.

The 200-yard performance in a wild act of survival

    Oct. 10, 2021

The Packers won a wild 25-22 game in overtime, helped a great deal by Adams' 11 catches, 206 yards and touchdown. The game would be remembered for other reasons; Crosby missed a 36-yarder that would have broken a tie with 2:14 left, then Cincinnati's Evan McPherson missed one from 57 with 26 seconds left, and Crosby missed again from 51 as time expired. In overtime, Crosby missed from 40 and McPherson missed from 49. Crosby finally hit from 49 to give the Packers the win.

It was Adams' lone 200-yard game with the Packers, though he did rack up 196 yards (and two touchdowns) in a 35-20 win over Houston in 2020.

    Tennessee melts in the snow

    Dec. 27, 2020

Adams had a near-career day against the Tennessee Titans late in the 2020 season, catching 11 of 12 targets for 142 yards and three touchdowns, helping Green Bay rattle off a 40-14 win. The third touchdown against a wintry Green Bay backdrop gave the Packers a 26-14 lead, and it marked the most spectacular catch of the three.

It was one of only two three-touchdown games in Adams' career.

An unreal catch against Jacksonville in the season opener

    Sept. 11, 2016

It ranks as one of Rodgers' best throws in his Packers career. In the 2016 season opener against Jacksonville, Rodgers found himself in a bind, with Jalen Ramsey dragging him down from behind. That didn't stop the play, though, as Rodgers flipped a ball downfield to Adams , who reeled it in despite a defender draped all over him. What it lacks in stakes it makes up for with improbability.

The 29-yard touchdown gave Green Bay a 21-17 lead en route to a 27-23 win. The defensive pass interference that was flagged on the play was, naturally, declined.

This impossible catch didn't count, but it's no less miraculous

    Sept. 28, 2014

It didn't officially count, but it should have, based on ridiculousness alone. Rodgers darted in and out of Chicago Bears rushers at Soldier Field and, just as his feet were taken out from under him on a hit by Lamarr Houston, he found Adams in the end zone eluding double coverage. It didn't count because of a holding call on Corey Linsley, but it's a miraculous would-have-been touchdown.

The Packers were ahead at the time, 21-17, in the third quarter. Crosby capped the drive with a field goal instead, and Green Bay went on to win, 38-17.
