Friday promises to be a lot like Thursday, with a high of 68 and sunny skies. It just gets warmer from there, with a Saturday high temperature of 71 and a Sunday high of 76, and sun throughout. It's not too late to fire up that grill one last time.

The changing landscape of the Catholic Church in Milwaukee

Sophie Carson has been taking a compelling look at the Catholic churches in Wisconsin and how they've worked to stay afloat, often by merging to offset the challenges of declining membership.

Across the Milwaukee Archdiocese, demographic changes have affected church enrollment. Buildings are underused, priests are stretched. One of the most obvious results of the collaboration between the three northwest side parishes was the recent reduction in the number of Masses offered each weekend, going from six, to four, and now to three — one at each church.

Check out her story on the collaborative efforts churches have undertaken in Milwaukee and the burden of unused buildings facing West Allis churches that have followed this path. We also have a map that shows how Catholic parishes have closed or merged over time in the region.

The Green Bay Packers are suing the city of Green Bay over 'Heritage Trail' relocation

Things are getting more and more heated between the Packers and the city of Green Bay.

The Green Bay Packers have asked a Brown County Circuit Court judge to at least temporarily stop the city of Green Bay from relocating the Packers Heritage Trail Plaza, which commemorates aspects of Packers history, to make way for a new luxury high-rise development.

The lawsuit comes amidst growing tensions between the city and the Packers as the two parties attempt to negotiate a Lambeau Field lease extension and resolve other issues.

An attorney for Packers Heritage in a Sept. 18 letter to the city called the city's proposed alternative locations "unacceptable" and said it would file a lawsuit if city officials didn't assure the Packers it would not unilaterally relocate the Heritage Trail Plaza. The attorney suggested the team could move the plaza to Lambeau Field or the Titletown District.

An attorney for the city on Sept. 27 responded to Packers Heritage that the plaza needed to be relocated by Oct. 15 and if the Packers continued to object to the relocation, the city would "remove the Heritage Trail Plaza and place the statues in storage" at the team's cost.
