    Severe thunderstorm watch issued for southeastern Wisconsin until 8 p.m.

    The National Weather Service issued a severe thunderstorm watch for southeast Wisconsin until 8 p.m.

    The affected counties include; Jefferson, Kenosha, Milwaukee, Racine, Walworth and Waukesha.

    A severe thunderstorm warning was issued for Waukesha and Jefferson counties until 5:45 p.m.

    At 4:50 p.m. a severe thunderstorm was located over Palmyra near Whitewater, moving northeast at 40 mph, according to the National Weather Service.

    Sixty mph wind gusts and quarter size hail were reported. Hail damage to vehicles is expected as well as wind damage to roofs, siding, and trees.

    A severe thunderstorm watch is issues when severe thunderstorms are possible in the area. A severe thunderstorm warning is issued when severe weather has been reported by spotters or indicated by radar, according to the National Weather Service.

    Severe weather warnings indicate danger to life and property.
