MILWAUKEE (TCN) -- A severed arm found in Illinois in April was positively identified as belonging to a 19-year-old woman who went missing after a first date and whose suspected dismembered remains were located following her disappearance.

Sade Robinson was last seen in Milwaukee on April 1 and was listed as a "critical missing" person. The next day, April 2, Cudahy Police Department officers responded to Warnimont Park because they received a report about a severed leg found near a golf course. Robinson’s car was also found on fire the same day.

Milwaukee Police said DNA testing from the leg indicated it was Robinson’s.

Investigators were able to determine Robinson went out to dinner with the suspect, Maxwell Anderson, the night she went missing and the day before human remains were found in different areas. Anderson was arrested and the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office announced April 12 they were charging him with first-degree intentional homicide, mutilating a corpse, and arson of property other than building. He’s in custody at the Milwaukee County Jail, where he is being held on $5 million bail.

On April 18, a torso and arms were found on the shore of Lake Michigan. Police also believe those body parts are Robinson’s.

According to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, a human arm washed ashore in Waukegan, Illinois, in May and was brought to the Lake County Medical Examiner’s Office for identification. Last week, the medical examiner confirmed the arm was Robinson’s.

Coroner Jennifer Banek reportedly said in a statement their office wanted to "express our sincere condolences to Sade’s family and friends who continue to endure this tragic loss."

In addition to the criminal charges, Robinson’s family filed a wrongful death lawsuit against Anderson on June 3.

The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports Robinson’s mother wrote in a statement that she is "devastated and feels like her heart is being cut out as she is constantly tortured with this accumulating news of her daughter’s heinous murder."
