A sheriff's deputy was injured and has a possible concussion after a driver stuck his squad car during a traffic stop on Interstate 41, the Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office said.

The sheriff's office said in a post on X that the incident happened Monday on southbound I-41 near West Greenfield Avenue.

The deputy had someone pulled over when a driver struck the back of his squad, sending it into the original traffic violator's vehicle, the sheriff's office said. It wasn't specified if the deputy was in his squad car or outside of it.

The deputy was taken to the hospital with minor injuries and possible concussion. "This could have been MUCH worse," the sheriff's office wrote, adding the deputy's K-9 was uninjured.

"Please be attentive and give space to (law enforcement) & other 1st responders," the sheriff's office wrote.
