A wine bar, a restaurant revival, French fare and a workout studio.

Check out these businesses that recently opened or plan to open soon in Brookfield and Wauwatosa.

Pipsqueak Wine now open in Wauwatosa

A new wine bar and shop has officially opened in East Tosa. Pipsqueak Wine, 6410 W. North Ave., focuses on small production wine with minimal intervention.

Pipsqueak Wine is open noon to 8 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday, noon to 9 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and noon to 6 p.m. Sunday. The shop is closed Monday and Tuesday.

Buy a bottle to take home or saddle up to the bar and enjoy a glass or bottle in-house.

Co-owners Heather Mitchell and Jonathan Blechman curated the business with decades of wine industry experience in Europe and New York City. East Tosa's walkability and the growing number of young families in Wauwatosa made the North Avenue location feel like a good fit for the couple's dream wine bar, Mitchell told the Journal Sentinel in March.

Margaux Brasserie shines at The Corners of Brookfield

Margaux, a French brasserie, opened to the public June 1 at 20107 N. Lord St. in The Corners of Brookfield.

Restaurateur Kristyn Eitel is the mind behind the French-inspired bar and restaurant located beside Von Maur. Margaux is Eitel's second restaurant concept at the town of Brookfield's shopping center and the first since she bought the majority stock in the BelAir Cantina and Fuel Cafe hospitality brands in 2022.

Her team includes executive chef Nick Aprahamian, who most recently was Chef de Cuisine at Mr. B’s – A Bartolotta Steakhouse, and certified sommelier Joshua Steiner.

"Margaux will be a place where you’ll fall in love with dining out all over again," Eitel said in a press release.

Escargot, tuna tartare, four unique charcuterie selections and a Parisian Benedict make Margaux's brunch and lunch stand out among other Milwaukee-area menus.

Dinner entrees include Hudson Canyon Scallops (charred asparagus, sage beurre blanc, carrot purée), Bouillabaisse (sea scallops, halibut, colossal shrimp, mussels, saffron tomato broth) and Au Poivre Filet Mignon (black pepper crusted filet medallions, potato purée, brandy peppercorn sauce).

And don't miss Margaux's wine, beer, cocktail and zero-proof mocktail offerings. Their cocktail list follows the restaurant's commitment to French cuisine with a modern twist ― just try the Crème Brulée Espresso Martini or the Lemon Meringue Margarita.

Margaux is open Monday through Thursday 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., Friday 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., Saturday 9 a.m. to 10 p.m., and Sunday 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Margaux can accommodate parties of up to 12 guests and accepts reservations online.

A beloved Brookfield bar and restaurant came back in June with new ownership and a new name.

CC's Elbow Room, 2850 N. Brookfield Road, has been revived as The Elbow Room by a trio that includes two Brookfield residents.

Jake Dehne, owner of Sydra Group which operates the downtown Milwaukee bars Red White and Blue and Lucky Clover Irish Pub, purchased the bar with his business partners Robert Jude and Seth Dehne. Jude and Jake Dehne are from Brookfield.

The Elbow Room had its grand reopening the last weekend of June with a jam-packed schedule of grilling, DJ sets, mimosa-tasting and Brewer's game viewings.

The Elbow Room menu still has its staples of smash burgers, pizza and wings, as well as tap beers, cocktails and wines. Hours are as follows: closed Monday and Tuesday, open Wednesday and Thursday 4 to 10 p.m., Friday 4 p.m. to midnight. Saturday 11 a.m. to midnight and Sunday 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Cee Cee Ceman closed CC's Elbow Room and put the business up for sale in November 2023 to spend more time with her family following her daughter's cancer diagnosis. Ceman opened CC's Elbow Room in 2021 in the space that was formerly Sabella's Pub , fulfilling a dream in her home of Brookfield, she told the Journal Sentinel.

Ceman told the Journal Sentinel she's excited for the new owners to experience running the business in "the kind neighborhood of the Brookfield Village."

"With Vino Cappuccino, Coffeeville, the new brewery Venture, and now The Elbow Room reopening, our little Village is becoming more social and I love it!" Ceman said.
