MILWAUKEE, Wis. (WFRV) – After a myriad of injuries to the team’s starting pitching corps, the Milwaukee Brewers say they’ve traded for a starting pitcher.

The Milwaukee Brewers announced that the team has acquired pitcher Aaron Civale from the Tampa Bay Rays in exchange for Gregory Barrios. Civale is 29 years old and has a career record of 33-32 with a 4.10 ERA over six seasons.

For the latest on high school sports in northeast Wisconsin:

He was originally drafted by Cleveland in the third round of the 2016 draft out of Northeastern University.

In order to make room on the 40-man roster, the Brewers say that pitcher Taylor Clarke was designated for assignment.

The Brewers have had multiple pitchers go on the injured list so far this year. Robert Gasser, DL Hall, Wade Miley, Joe Ross and Brandon Woodruff are just some of the starting pitchers that are on the 60-day IL.
