    What's the weather for Fourth of July fireworks, parades in Milwaukee?

    Milwaukeeans are looking to celebrate Independence Day with neighborhood parades, fireworks and, this year, Summerfest.

    The holiday is expected to see a high temperature around 80 degrees, but possible showers and storms in the evening forecast could put a damper on some festivities.

    Here's what the forecast is expected to look during fireworks and parade celebrations and how the weather could impact your Independence Day plans.

    What's the weather like for July 3 fireworks

    A few communities, including Menomonee Falls, Mukwonago, Muskego and Waukesha, will shoot off fireworks a day early on Wednesday.

    Temperatures in the Milwaukee area are expected to be in the upper 70s when fireworks shows begin between 9 and 10 p.m. Light winds and moderately high humidity are in the forecast. Rain and storms are not expected.

    Milwaukee Fourth of July parade forecast

    Weather in the Milwaukee area looks good for Fourth of July parades scheduled to take place in the morning in communities throughout Milwaukee, Ozaukee, Washington and Waukesha counties.

    The holiday's earliest activities kick off at 8 a.m. in Hales Corners with the Firecracker Four Run/Walk at Hales Corners Park. Southeastern Wisconsin's first parades begin at 9 a.m., and later ones start in the early afternoon.

    Rain is unlikely in Milwaukee before 2 p.m., and moderate early-morning cloud cover is supposed to dissipate throughout the morning. Winds should be calm, and temperatures will climb from 73 degrees at 8 a.m. to 82 degrees by 1 p.m. Dew points are expected to be a bit sticky.

    Milwaukee Fourth of July Summerfest forecast

    Summerfest runs from noon to midnight at Milwaukee's Henry Maier Festival Park on July 4.

    Pleasant weather is expected earlier in the festival with precipitation chances climbing throughout the afternoon. There is a 10% chance of rain at 2 p.m.; this increases to about 30% by 10 p.m. The National Weather Service says there is a slight chance of thunder after 7 p.m.

    The festival's headliner, pop trio AJR with guests Carly Rae Jepsen and mxmtoon, will take the American Family Insurance Amphitheater stage at 7 p.m. The forecast predicts it will be 76 degrees and partly cloudy at that time, with minimal winds and a 25% chance of rain.

    Precipitation chances climb to 65% between midnight and 1 a.m., and overnight storms are likely.

    Milwaukee Fourth of July fireworks forecast

    Fireworks and light shows are scheduled to kick off throughout southeastern Wisconsin between 9 and 10 p.m.

    Temperatures will be just over 70 degrees in Milwaukee at fireworks time, and winds should be minimal. There is a 25% chance of rain in the forecast at 9 p.m., which will climb to 28% by 10 p.m. A slight chance of thunder could disrupt fireworks plans.
