BizStarts announces free entrepreneurship summer camp

MILWAUKEE, Wis. -- BizStarts, in partnership with the Center for Teaching Entrepreneurship, announced Friday "First Launch," a free summer camp for children ages 11-14 from disadvantaged areas in Milwaukee.

BizStarts said it developed the camp for Milwaukee's mini entrepreneurs, and will help provide the tools to help Milwaukee students positively navigate their life situations. Lessons will be taught by Milwaukee entrepreneurs and graduates of the BizStarts Institute boot camp.

BizStarts said First Launch aims to teach campers essential entrepreneurship skills through fun and engaging activities, including finding solutions to everyday problems, developing social skills, recovering from difficult situations, and more. Campers will enjoy an additional field trip to the Edessa School of Fashion.

BizStarts said the camp will be held from July 8-11 at three different locations: Chuchos Red Tacos/Farmhouse Paint and Sip, the Lubar Entrepreneurship Center at UWM, and the newly opened Diverse Dining Market.
