The suspected assassination attempt against Donald Trump has shocked the world, with celebrities from all sides of the political spectrum having their say.

Amber Rose praised the former president as she spoke at the 2024 Republican National Convention in Milwaukee on Monday. The 40-year-old model said she "belongs" with other Trump supporters during the event.

Actor Jack Black has also been dragged into the conversation as he's been forced to cancel his band's tour after bandmate Kyle Gass made shocking comments about the shooting. Amid the fallout, public relations expert Michael Levine has warned celebrity political comments have a "double-edged sword"

Speaking exclusively to The Mirror US, he said: "The involvement of celebrities in politics impacts the contemporary landscape. Celebrities have large platforms and considerable influence, allowing them to raise awareness on political issues, mobilize voters, and shape public opinion.

"Their endorsements can bring attention to lesser-known candidates or causes and drive engagement among demographics that might otherwise be politically disengaged. However, this influence is a double-edged sword.

"At the same time, it can promote positive change and activism; it often leads to the oversimplification of complex issues and contributes to the polarization of political discourse. Celebrities' political involvement usually sparks debates about their qualifications and the appropriateness of their influence in democratic processes."

As Amber Rose spoke at the RNC, she admitted she hasn't always been a fan of Trump but said: "I realized Donald Trump and his supporters don't care if you're Black, white, gay or straight." Her comments are in stark contrast to those made by Jack Back's Tenacious D bandmate Kyle Gass.

"Make a wish," Jack said as Kyle was presented with a birthday cake on stage. As his bandmate blew out the candles, he said: "Don't miss Trump next time."

Jack has now said he was "blindsided" by the comments and said he would never condone violence. "I was blindsided by what was said at the show on Sunday. I would never condone hate speech or encourage political violence in any form. After much reflection, I no longer feel it is appropriate to continue the Tenacious D tour, and all future creative plans are on hold. I am grateful to the fans for their support and understanding," he said in a statement.

Kyle added: "The line I improvised onstage Sunday night in Sydney was highly inappropriate, dangerous and a terrible mistake. I don't condone violence of any kind, in any form, against anyone. What happened was a tragedy, and I'm incredibly sorry for my severe lack of judgment. I profoundly apologize to those I've let down and truly regret any pain I've caused."
