A spokesperson for Rudy Giuliani issued a statement on Wednesday after the former mayor fell into some chairs at the Republican National Convention the night before.

On Tuesday, John Park of Spectrum News posted a video on social media showing the 80-year-old walking down an aisle at Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Giuliani can be seen reaching into his pocket before tumbling over into empty folding chairs before being helped up.

Not surprisingly, the video went viral on social media.

In a statement to Mediaite Giuliani spokesperson Ted Goodman said the mayor stumbled after encountering a “dip” in the floor.

Mayor Rudy Giuliani appreciates everyone’s concern after tripping over a dip in the walkway on the convention floor of the convention.

The mayor and I were both filming footage for his social media and livestream programs on the floor of the convention, when he turned to set some equipment on a chair and tripped over a dip between the walkway and chairs.

Those falsely suggesting anything else are misleading the public for their own agendas. Anyone who wants to question Mayor Giuliani’s stamina or abilities should check out the half dozen interviews he had just completed before coming over to the convention floor, including a longform interview with Dan Bongino.

The mayor immediately stood up and continued with his jam-packed schedule, collecting video footage and talking with reporters. As soon as we left the convention floor, the mayor proceeded to do his two-hour livestream show and conducted back-to-back interviews with The Young Turks Cenk Uygur & Ana Kasparian.

Mayor Giuliani is thrilled to be here in support of his friend, the 45th and soon-to-be 47th President of the United States, Donald J Trump.

Giuliani has been a longtime ally of former President Donald Trump and served as his personal attorney. Earlier this month, he was disbarred in New York. His law license was suspended in 2021 when the Appellate Division ruled that his propagation of conspiracy theories about the 2020 election was a threat to the legal profession.

“We will be appealing this objectively flawed decision in hopes that the appellate process will restore integrity into our system of justice,” Goodman said in a statement at the time.
