(The Center Square) – Republicans called for tax cuts and blasted President Joe Biden's economy during the fourth and final night of the 2024 Republican National Convention in Milwaukee Thursday night.

Biden took fire for inflationary prices during his term in office, which have risen over 20% since he took office.

Recent polling has shown inflation and the economy, alongside illegal immigration, are two of the biggest concerns among voters during this year’s election, as The Center Square reported .

Recent reports show America’s economy experiencing below-trend growth since 2023, The Center Square reported .

Chair of the America First Policy Institute Linda McMahon compared the U.S. economy under the Trump administration versus today’s economy. McMahon led the Small Business Administration during Trump's tenure.

She said Trump will make his tax cuts permanent if he wins in November

“I traveled the country talking to business owners and job creators,” McMahon said. “They knew they had a president who understood them and fought for them. He knew that small businesses are the engine of the American economy and the Trump tax cut proved to be like rocket fuel for them.”

McMahon added that the American economy was “flourishing” under Trump’s presidency.

“Now Joe Biden and the Democrats want to penalize small businesses by hiking their taxes,” McMahon said.

American businesswoman and owner of ABC Supply Co. Diane Hendricks focused on economic issues during her speech on the RNC stage.

Hendricks slammed the Biden administration’s economy, citing inflation in the U.S.

“But today, the American dream is under threat,” Hendricks said. “Since Joe Biden and Kamala Harris took over the offices, prices have risen over 20%.

“We need a builder back in The White House,” Hendricks added. “Someone who will cut the job-killing regulations, lower taxes on working families, and give the power back to the American people.”

Diane Evans, an avid Trump supporter who has volunteered for the Trump campaign for many years, spoke following Hendricks’ speech.

“As long as I can remember, these politicians have said what they think we want to hear, and then they do just what the hell they want,” Evans said. “And Joe Biden has been the worst offender for the last 50 years. President Trump is different. I knew that he would get things done for the American people, and he did.”

“The Democrats are going to do everything in their power to stop him,” Evans added. “We can't rest for a minute.”
