Former CBS News host Lara Logan threatened to “haunt” Guardian journalist Sam Levine if he used the words “conspiracy theory” in his reporting on the Republican National Convention’s Gateway Pundit event.

“Don’t fuck us,” Logan said, as she turned to Levine in the atrium of a hotel that was formerly the old Pabst Brewery in Milwaukee. “If you use the word conspiracy theorist in your story, I’m going to haunt you when I die.”

Fortunately for Levine, other than in quoting Logan , who was there to moderate the presentation, he successfully managed to write up his report on the Republican National Convention’s Gateway Pundit without using the words.

The presentation by the founder of the far-right Gateway Pundit website Jim Hoft and his twin brother, Joe Hoft , was pitched as a “blockbuster interview on the site’s legal challenges and new beginnings.”

The website, known for spreading misinformation , has faced significant legal trouble recently and declared bankruptcy in April to postpone civil suits from two Georgia election workers and a former Dominion Voting Systems employee, who allege the site defamed them by accusing workers of running ballots through the machines several times during the 2020 presidential election count. The publishers deny making libelous claims against the individuals.

During the talk, Hoft reportedly rehashed the debunked claims about the Georgia election workers to around 20 attendees, offering little new information.

The allegation that ballots were scanned multiple times in Georgia has been thoroughly debunked, and the involved election workers were exonerated. At the time, a hand recount of every vote cast in Georgia’s presidential race confirmed President Joe Biden’s victory in the state.
