WaterStone Bank Air & Water Show in Milwaukee
The U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds return to the skies above the Lake Michigan shore just north of downtown Milwaukee for the WaterStone Bank Air & Water Show July 27-28. Both days, water events start off McKinley and Bradford beaches at 10 a.m.; the air show starts at noon, with the Thunderbirds performing at 3 p.m. Also performing: Frecce Tricolori ("Tricolor Arrows"), the Italian Air Force's official aerobatic team, making its first visit to Milwaukee. Harley-Davidson Homecoming Festival
The Harley-Davidson Homecoming Festival rolls into town July 25-28. There are free activities, entertainment and live music each day at the Harley-Davidson Museum, along with events at Harley dealerships and the new Davidson Park at Harley's headquarters, 3700 W. Juneau Ave. (There's also two ticketed days of music in Veterans Park, headlined by Jelly Roll and the Red Hot Chili Peppers.) Info: h-d.com/homecoming .

German Fest
German Fest returns to Maier Festival Park this weekend, with music, beer and plenty of gemütlichkeit. The festival runs from 3 p.m. to midnight July 26, noon to midnight July 27 and noon to 7 p.m. July 28. Admission at the gate is $20 ($5 for July 26 only); $7 for seniors 60 and older, and for students with a valid school I.D.; and free for kids 12 and younger when accompanied by an adult. Milwaukee Brewfest
More than 75 craft brewers and makers of other spirits will be pouring at Milwaukee Brewfest from 3 to 6:30 p.m. July 27 in McKinley Park, 1600 N. Lincoln Memorial Drive. Tickets at the gate are $85, $105 for VIP admission (gets you in one hour earlier) and $30 for designated drivers. Info: milwaukeebrewfest.com.
Riverwest 24
It's too late to sign up to ride, but you can watch the other riders in the Riverwest 24, a 24-hour bike race/ride through the same-named Milwaukee neighborhood starting at 7 p.m. July 26 at 2600 N. Pierce St. Info: riverwest24.com.
