Big Lots gets big news about its future in Sheboygan

The Big Lots at 3426 Kohler Memorial Drive is closing, but a final date wasn’t shared by the location yet.

Stores in Fond du Lac, West Bend and Mount Pleasant could also close.

Big Lots plans to close 35 to 40 to stores this year, according to a U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission filing.

3 Sheeps expands to Milwaukee. Plus, the contentious Malibu Apartments proposal gets its first green light.

• 3 Sheeps opens multi-brewery in Milwaukee: The Sheboygan-based brewery partnered with Door County Brewing Company and Hacienda Beer Company to open the Triple Taproom & Kitchen in Milwaukee. All three breweries offer their beers on tap and packaged.
• Emmer’s bar closing soon: Long-time staple of the Sheridan Park neighborhood, Emmer’s bar will close after nearly 40 years. It was a popular destination for a local brat fry, dart league and cornhole tournament over the years.
• Malibu Apartments plan initially approved: The City Plan Commission approved the 215-unit apartment complex on Kite Beach, last occupied by the Optenberg Iron Works plant until it closed and was torn down in the early 2000s.
