Giannis Antetokounmpo has been the face of the Milwaukee Bucks for over a decade as the leader on and off the court.

On Friday night, the man known as the Greek Freak was the first face everyone saw during the opening ceremony of the 2024 Paris Olympics as he led Greece down the Seine River as the country's flag bearer .

As the birthplace of the Olympics, Greece always opens the Parade of Nations .

The smile didn't leave Antetokounmpo's face as Greece's boat continued through the parade as spectators celebrated.

Antetokounmpo took to social media afterward, saying carrying his country's flag was the "greatest honor."

Antetokounmpo, born in Greece after his parents immigrated from Nigeria, will lead the Greek national team into its first Olympics since 2008 . His life story, where he went from selling trinkets on the streets of Greece just to get by to becoming an NBA champion, was made into a Disney movie .
