USA TODAY named its Bars of the Year. This Milwaukee favorite made the list

Bryant's Cocktail Lounge in Milwaukee made USA TODAY’s list of best bars in the country.

The USA TODAY Bars of the Year 2024 list, released today, features 27 bars from dives to high-end cocktail bars.

"It makes me feel good," Bryant's owner John Dye said about the nomination. "I think we do something really unique and special, so it feels good when it's appreciated. It's national, bringing attention to Milwaukee, which is an awesome city for restaurants and bars."

USA TODAY Network food journalists live and work in states across the country. They know their communities, and they pooled their expertise to select the list , which includes the places they spend their time and recommend to readers and friends.

Bryant's was chosen because of its unique menuless ordering system. Customers describe drinks they like, and the bartender custom makes a drink for each person. The bar also was selected for its unique story that dates back to 1936 and its historical lounge that has remained the same for the past 50 years.
