SHREVEPORT, La. (KPEL News) - A Shreveport woman is in serious trouble after shining laser pointers at two aircraft, which is a major federal crime. April Nicole Poitras, 45, of Shreveport, entered a guilty plea in federal court to multiple charges and faces up to 5 years in prison and up to a quarter million dollars in fines.

Those responsible for reviewing and recommending changes to the Caddo Parish charter were officially charged with their duties Wednesday morning. The Caddo Parish Charter Review Commission, a body assembled every four years to examine and propose changes to the document setting the foundation of parish government, assembled in downtown Shreveport Wednesday. Though the charter review commission will not begin the work for which they were appointed until a later meeting with the aim of completing their job by the end of the year, Wednesday marked the first step in that process as members were given their marching orders and organized for future meetings.
Bossier Federal Credit Union makes contribution to operation blessing
BENTON, La. - Bossier Sheriff’s Office Food Pantry received a donation of canned and packaged food items from the team at Bossier Federal Credit Union. This marks the third year that the Credit Union has supported Operation Blessing with such a contribution. The effort was driven by 71 Bossier Federal Credit Union employees, who were divided into six teams for a friendly competition to collect the most food donations.

Shreveport Police Arrest Man With Knife at Humor & Harmony
During the "Humor & Harmony" event, on August the 10th, around 8 p.m. Shreveport Police were dispatched to the 700 block of Elvis Presley Boulevard in response to reports of a possible homeless man armed with a knife.
