Corndogs, cotton candy and funnel cake are on deck in Fredericksburg for the next 10 days. The Fredericksburg Agricultural Fair begins Friday and ends Aug. 4. Gates open at 5 p.m. and close at 10 p.m. each weekday. On weekends, gates open at 1 p.m. and close at 10 p.m.

Workforce NOW Presents Students with Scholarships at Quarterly Member Meeting
The Chamber’s Workforce NOW Committees and Board of Directors were pleased to present three (3) deserving students with scholarships on July 24th, 2024 at the quarterly member meeting. The Fredericksburg Regional Chamber in partnership with Go Virginia, Fredericksburg, Stafford, Caroline, Spotsylvania, and King George Public Schools, Germanna Community College and University of Mary Washington host an annual Intern Expo, each year in February. A scholarship application opportunity was offered to any student who attended the Intern Expo. The applicant pool was strong, and 3 students have been selected as our 2024 Workforce NOW Scholarship Recipients. Interested in donating to the 2025 scholarship fund, contact [email protected]
Richmond felon, alleged 13th Gang member, headed back to prison for drug trafficking
A Richmond man was sentenced Wednesday to three years and 10 months in prison for possession with intent to distribute heroin. Samuel Tarry, 27, was previously convicted of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and was sentenced to five years in prison, with four years and six months suspended, with a condition of good behavior. He was released from prison in 2022. Due to his previous firearm conviction, Tarry was prohibited from possessing another gun.
