Petite Violette Celebrates Fifty Years in Business This August
Petite Violette (formerly known as Petite Auberge) is turning 50 years old this August, and the Gropp brothers want to celebrate with their longtime guests as well as new community members. During the month of August, Michael and Anthony Gropp plan to host cooking demonstrations, wine tastings, a formal party, a fundraiser and discount days. In addition, they will bring back classic dishes from the past 50 years’ worth of menus.

The Atlanta Falcons have kicked off training camp for the 2024 NFL season, holding their first official practice on Thursday afternoon. Atlanta has missed the playoffs six years in a row, but this team is healthy, hungry and ready to take off under head coach Raheem Morris. It wasn’t the most intense day of practice as players were eased back into the action with walkthroughs. Quarterback Kirk Cousins and defensive lineman Grady Jarrett have both been cleared but Morris said the team is managing their reps early in camp. The schools are participating in the USDA Community Eligibility Provision (CEP), a meal service option for schools and districts in low-income areas. The program provides free breakfast and lunch to all enrolled students. Families do not have to complete a family meal application to participate, the meals are open to all students.
