Port Henry Fire Department pursuing new station
PORT HENRY | 2024 marks 150 years that the Port Henry Fire Department (PHFD) has been serving its community. Dating back to 1874, the department is one of the oldest fire departments in New York State. With nearly 40 members, PHFD serves a community of 1,800 residents and has a fire response area that spans 28 square miles. The department also supplies mutual aid to 23 other Essex County fire companies.
