    Twin Cities weekend guide: Pride Festival, dog parade, Somali Week

    Pride month may be wrapping up, but Twin Cities Pride 's takeover is just beginning.

    What's happening: The Twin Cities Pride Festival will bring hundreds of thousands to Loring Park Saturday and Sunday, with over 650 vendors, artists and businesses expected to attend.


    • New activities include a cannabis garden with THC beverages and edibles and the Artist Alley, a space exclusively featuring LGBTQ+ artists.

    Plus: Get a head start celebrating at the Pride Beer Dabbler , held at the Minneapolis Sculpture Garden Friday night. Tickets start at $55 .

    • Don't forget the flagship parade down Hennepin Avenue, held Sunday from 11am–2pm.

    In other entertainment news...

    🌹 Roseville's weeklong festival Rosefest continues Thursday through Sunday. Activities include a food festival Thursday night, free family indoor roller-skating Friday and a car show, live music and fireworks on Saturday. Free

    🐶 Watch a parade of pups on Friday night at the Northeast Minneapolis Dog Parade . Neighborhood pets will walk down Main Street and compete in categories like best trick, look-alike and best costume. Free

    🪩 Dance the nights away at Breakaway Minnesota Friday and Saturday at Allianz Field. The EDM music festival's headliners include Kaskade, Slander, Knock2 and Illenium. One-day tickets start at $109

    🏐 Celebrate Hmong culture at the 42nd Hmong International Freedom Festival in St. Paul this Saturday and Sunday.

    • The sports-focused festival's itinerary includes cornhole, flag football and Kato tournaments — the latter is similar to volleyball, but players can't use their arms. Free

    🇸🇴 Somali Week activities are in full swing, and West Lake Street between Blaisdell and Stevens Avenues will shut down Saturday for the Somali Independence Day Festival from 2–8pm. Expect cultural performances, food, vendors and kids activities. Free
