    Minnesota restaurant openings & closings for June 2024

    Creperies and cafés, new hot chicken spots, brunch destinations and Minnesota's first location of a popular South Korea-based bakery chain were among the restaurants to arrive in Minnesota this month.

    Here's a round-up of the latest restaurant openings and closings:

    Openings

    Alary's Bar (139 Seventh Street East, St. Paul): St. Paul's game-day destination for Chicago Bears is officially back open, marking a new chapter for the 75-year-old Alary's Bar. Read more here .

    Darling (3311 East 25th Street, Minneapolis): A new restaurant led by Jules and Ray Roberts, the owners of People's Organic and former personal chefs to Prince, is now open in the former Birchwood Cafe space in the Seward neighborhood. Read more from the Star Tribune here .

    Dave's Hot Chicken (7720 149th Street West, Apple Valley): The Twin Cities' third Dave's Hot Chicken opened in Apple Valley this month and another location in Coon Rapids will soon follow. Read more here .

    Hangry Joe's Hot Chicken & Wings (9043 Broderick Boulevard, Inver Grove Heights): A new Nashville-style hot chicken destination arrived in the Twin Cities this month. Founded in Virginia, the fast-growing franchise has since gone global with locations in the United Arab Emirates and Korea.

    Hope Breakfast Bar (7585 France Avenue South, Edina): The Twin Cities' fourth full-service Hope Breakfast Bar opened in Edina this month and at least two additional locations are on the way. Read more here .

    Oh Crêpe! (4408 France Avenue, Edina): A new destination for traditional French sweet crêpes, galettes, cakes and more opened this month in the space formerly occupied by Minnesota's original Caribou Coffee location. Chef/Owner Claire Corvaisier, who is from Brittany, France, is behind the new creperie & café. Read more here .

    Paris Baguette (7855 Elm Creek Boulevard North, Maple Grove): South Korea-based bakery chain Paris Baguette arrived in Minnesota this month. The French-inspired bakery-café, founded in 1986, is best known for its soft cream cakes, pastries, breads and other baked goods, all made fresh daily. Read more here .

    Sweet Paris Creperie & Café (Level one, north inside Mall of America): Inspired by sidewalk cafés in Paris, crêpes, omelettes, soups, salads, paninis and more are on the menu at Sweet Paris Creperie & Café. Read more here .

    Li-Su Thai Kitchen (1095 Diffley Road, Eagan): A new Thai restaurant opened this month in the Eagan strip mall space formerly occupied by China Gourmet, which closed this year after over a decade in business. Li-Su Thai Kitchen serves red curry, papaya salad, pho and more.

    QDOBA (15052 Gleason Path, Apple Valley): Fast-casual restaurant chain QDOBA Mexican Eats opened a new Twin Cities location in Apple Valley this month. Read more here .

    Closings

    The Dam Store (54116 Glory Ln, Rapidan Dam): The beloved pie shop and diner has been torn down due to the ongoing threat of erosion from the flooding Blue Earth River. Read more here.

    Peppers & Fries (3900 East Lake Street, Minneapolis): The family-run Longfellow neighborhood restaurant, known for its burritos and burgers, will close for good Saturday, June 29. Read more here .

    Tavern on Grand (656 Grand Avenue, St. Paul): The Tavern on Grand departed St. Paul's Grand Avenue this month after 35 years serving its famous walleye sandwich and other fare. A new restaurant, Russell's Bar and Grill, is expected to open in the space this fall. Read more here .
