Kyle Anderson has parted ways with the Minnesota Timberwolves. As the free agency market kicked off yesterday, several players have made moves to new teams. Today, both Monte Morris and now Kyle Anderson have left the Timberwolves to pursue opportunities elsewhere.

So far, the brightest spot in Timberwolves’ free agency has been Luka Garza’s return on a two-year deal . Losing Monte Morris and Kyle Anderson is a setback, but the team retains most of its core for next season, along with the addition of new draft picks.

Kyle Anderson chooses the Golden State Warriors over the Minnesota Timberwolves

In the end, Kyle Anderson opted for the money, and honestly, can anyone blame him? There was simply no way the Timberwolves could match the three-year, $27 million deal the Golden State Warriors had waiting for him.

However, the Timberwolves did receive compensation as part of Kyle Anderson’s departure. In a sign-and-trade deal, they acquired a second-round pick swap along with financial considerations, in exchange for Anderson.

During his time with the Timberwolves, Anderson started 56 games in two seasons, averaging 25.3 minutes per game and contributing 7.8 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 3.5 assists per game, showcasing his versatility and impact.

Head coach Chris Finch and his teammates held a deep admiration for him, although he was often a target of fan criticism, earning him the nickname “SloMo”. His presence in the locker room will surely be missed.
