The Minnesota Lynx are facing an unfortunate setback after forward Napheesa Collier suffered a left foot injury during Thursday night's 78-73 loss to the Connecticut Sun.

Collier was injured with just 2:36 left in the third quarter and did not return to the game.

Collier has been a standout player this season, earning MVP honors in the Commissioner's Cup final on June 25. Earlier in June, she was named to her second 5-on-5 Olympic team for the United States.

Lynx coach Cheryl Reeve, who also coaches the U.S. women's national team, said in the postgame press conference that there were no updates yet on Collier or reserve guard Olivia Epoupa, who suffered a thigh injury in the same game, as reported by Michael Voepel of ESPN.

Before leaving the game, Collier had nine points, ending her streak of 29 consecutive games scoring in double figures. Alyssa Thomas, another U.S. Olympian, recorded a triple-double with 13 points, 14 assists and 10 rebounds for the Sun.

The Lynx, now 14-6, have lost two consecutive games for the first time this season. Reflecting on the recent losses, Reeve said, "It's not that we're playing bad, just not well enough to win."

Collier, the 2019 Rookie of the Year, has been crucial for the Lynx, averaging 20.0 points, 10.2 rebounds, and 3.7 assists this season.

The team has five games remaining before the WNBA All-Star Game on July 20, where Collier is set to play for Team USA, depending on her injury status.
