Carlos Correa Has Plantar Fasciitis Again

The Minnesota Twins are preparing to play an afternoon game vs the San Francisco Giants today, but Carlos Correa will not be partaking. The 29-year-old All-Star shortstop left yesterday’s contest early, with an apparent foot injury.

Less than 24 hours later, fresh off an MRI, Correa told reporters that he has plantar fasciitis again. For those with poor memories, that’s the same injury he struggled with for most of the 2023 season. This time around, however, it’s in the other foot and he claims it is not as severe.

Earlier, it was reported that Carlos Correa still had plans to attend the 2024 MLB All-Star Game, and hopefully play. Unfortunately, he was replaced on Sunday evening. Prior to that news, optimism was high that he’d be back on July 20 , when the Twins’ season resumes at home vs the Milwaukee Brewers.

Correa needs to do whatever it takes to nurse himself back to health because he’s in the midst of a career year, and that’s saying something, given the HOF track he’s on through 9.5 seasons .

Before exiting yesterday’s game, Correa was slashing .308/.377/.520, racking up 13 HR and 47 RBI in 75 games played. His .896 OPS currently stands as his best since 2019 (.926).
