Minnesota Vikings receiver Jordan Addison is back in the headlines during the offseason, which is never a good thing. Making matters worse, Addison’s latest slip-up comes in the form of another automobile-related incident, his second in two seasons with the Vikings.
This time, Addison was arrested on suspicion of drunk driving after “ being caught asleep at the wheel ” near LAX. The arrest came on Friday night after the California Highway Patrol was dispatched at 11:10 p.m. following the report of a vehicle blocking a lane of traffic from the freeway.
Officers arrived at the scene of a white Rolls-Royce blocking the “number one lane of the freeway.” At 11:36 p.m., Addison was arrested after officers completed their DUI investigation. He was later released from jail at 1:36 a.m. after posting bond.
As noted, this is Addison’s second driving incident since being selected 23rd overall in the 2023 NFL Draft. The first came before he had even played his first NFL game when Addison was pulled over last July in his Lamborghini Urus. That time, he received a citation for violating the speed limit plus reckless driving. Addison later suggested he only did so due to his dog having a “ medical emergency .”
Addison had been drawing rave reviews for his exemplary work during minicamp practices, but this paints a much different picture. After his teammate Khyree Jackson passed away in a violent car wreck on July 6, for Addison to allegedly be driving impaired less than a week later is a very bad look.

Naturally, the Vikings have to be disappointed in their 22-year-old receiver. While they’re still trying to get the full story, the Vikings have released an initial statement addressing Jordan Addison’s arrest.
“We are aware of Jordan Addison’s arrest this past Friday and are currently gathering more information regarding the incident.”

After a strong rookie season that saw Addison record 911 receiving yards and 10 touchdowns on 70 receptions, the Vikings have high hopes heading into 2024 for the former USC star. It remains to be seen whether this latest trouble will lead to an in-season suspension for Minnesota’s No. 2 receiver.
